Hi! My name is Jessica, and welcome to my first blog post!
Who am I, you ask?

Well, as the title of the blog suggests, I’m a geek who loves food – cooking it, eating it, smelling it…food is just the best.
But I assume you want to know a little bit more about me than just that.

I was born in Canada, and am currently living in California. I’ve been living in the States for about 9 years. I have an obsession with Halloween. My regular day job is a Producer at a video production company. I have been married for about 3 1/2 months to my best friend. We share our house with a 16 lb Maine Coon cat, Ozzy, who is larger than most of my friends’ small dogs.
Now – why am I writing this blog?
I love cooking, but once I started working full time at my current company I stopped cooking as much and started ordering in more and more. I’m hoping that this blog helps give me a push to cook more, and order in less.
Plus, the cookbooks I’m selecting are really fun! I love televisions shows, movies, books…pretty much any fictional stories. Over the years I’ve started collecting numerous themed cookbooks, and it’s time to put them to use!
I have purchased cookbooks in the past where I was kind of disappointed with the quality or authenticity of the recipes. I’m sure I can’t be the only one this has happened to. This is also a way to help inform you which cookbooks might be worth the buy.

Okay…so what is my blog about, then?
In this blog, I will be reviewing recipes from a new fiction-based cookbook every month – it could be from a book, TV show, movie, video game, etc.
And though cookbook reviewing will be the main purpose of this blog, I’ll also be including some additional facts and info about whatever the theme is that month. (i.e. for True Blood it would be Southern cooking, or English foods for Harry Potter).
If you love food and fiction, then I think you’ll enjoy this blog. And, if you have any feedback or suggestions, I’d love to hear them! This is my first blog ever, so it’s a learning curve for me. I’m happy to hear any advice you may have.
