I don’t love ginger cookies to be honest, so while I’m always excited about a simple cookie recipe, I wasn’t terribly excited to make these.
That being said, they weren’t half bad!
First the wet ingredients are combined: butter, sugar, molasses, egg, and lemon.
Second, the dry ingredients are combined separately: white flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, salt.
Third, it’s all combined together.
Now chunks of dough are rolled into a ball shape, stabbed with a fork, and then baked until “dark brown.”
Taste: 9/10
Maybe if I liked ginger cookies these would be a full 10/10 for me, but these just weren’t a favorite. To be honest, I wasn’t excited about them at all after the first bite but they grew on me! They’re quite addictive!
