Bennett’s Kale, Date, and Almond Smoothie
When Caputo questions Bennet what he’s drinking, Bennet says it’s a combination of kale, dates, and almond.
We had this for breakfast this morning, since it’s really healthy; a great way to start off the day!
First just the almond milk, dates, and almond butter are blended together, and then once smooth the rest is added and blended: whey protein powder, kale leaves, ground ginger, salt, and ice cubes.
I was surprised at how good this actually was. I get a little hesitant with “health” smoothies, or really any smoothies that contain greens, but I enjoyed this a lot! It helps that the almond flavor really covered up the kale taste.
It should be noted, though, that my husband did the grocery shopping this week and I ended up with regular almond milk instead of unsweetened, which I’m sure helped the taste in some way.
All you need is a blender!
You’ll need almond milk, dates, almond butter, kale, and ground ginger, though you may already have some of these. The whey protein powder is optional, but would increase cost to “Pricey.”
