We’re now moving away from Gabrielle’s recipes, and onto Susan Mayer’s! Susan is not the best cook; she even manages to screw up mac & cheese. So her recipes tend to be on the easier side, and lean more toward comfort food than the other ladies of Wisteria Lane.
Chipotle-Glazed Chicken Wings
The worst part about this recipe was cutting the wings. Once that was over, it was smooth sailing! It was nice to find a quick and easy recipe to make on a weekday.
The wings are tossed with salt and pepper and cooked in the oven.
Meanwhile, the chipotle sauce was made by combining adobo sauce, orange juice, vinegar, and sugar, and boiling it over the stove until it’s more syrup-like.
When the wings are done, they are tossed in the chipotle sauce and put back into the oven for another 5 minutes. Then they’re tossed in the remaining chipotle sauce one more time before serving.
Taste: 9/10
These were VERY good, but not quite perfection. My husband thinks they would have been improved had they been more crispy.
Difficulty: Easy
These are extremely simple, with the most difficult part being cutting the tips off the wings and separating the wings at the joint. After that, it’s just mixing and stirring and making sure nothing burns.
Cost: Average
You’ll need to purchase the chicken wings and the chipotle adobo sauce for sure. The remaining ingredients include orange juice, vinegar, sugar, and salt and pepper.
