The holidays brought me many fiction-based cookbooks, including my first parody-based cookbook: 50 Shades of Bacon! To be honest I have never read the book “50 Shades of Grey” or seen the movie, but I can tell you that these recipes are most definitely not found in there. This is more of a “just for fun” cookbook.
About 50 Shades of Grey:
50 Shades of Grey is the first book of an erotic novel trilogy, written by E. L. James, about the risqué relationship between a handsome, successful businessman and a naive, inexperienced college student. The books were extremely successful and have since been developed into movies as well, though the movies did not do as well as the books.
About the Cookbook:
I love the cover of this book! It matches the novel really well. Inside there are 50 bacon-filled recipes divided up into sections with erotic-sounding names (i.e. “Foreplay” for Appetizers and “Morning Wood” for Breakfast). Aside from that, however, this cookbook has very little to do with 50 Shades of Grey. The recipes are not based on or made to look like anything specific to the novels, and the recipe titles don’t sound erotic.
