Big Softie Ginger Cookies
The cookbook says these are from Chapter 4 of The Hunger Games. I don’t recall if they’re mentioned by name (I’m guessing not), but they would be in reference to Katniss throwing the cookies that Peeta’s father gave to her out the window.
These cookies are relatively simple to prepare. Dry ingredients are mixed together in one bowl, wet ingredients in another, and then the two are combined together before chilling in the fridge.
After about an hour, the dough is shaped into balls, rolled in sugar, and baked.
I actually didn’t think they turned out quite right when I first pulled them out of the oven, since they still looked pretty tall, but they did flatten out as they cooled.
Taste: 9/10
I’m not a ginger cookies person – chocolate chip and shortbread are more my speed – but these were really good. They reminded me of my granny’s baking!

I’ve written the “average” on here as well, in case you need to purchase some of the spices.
