Perfect Cream Scones

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! I’m super excited because this is actually my first Mother’s Day as a new mom! And truth be told, I made these yesterday so it’s one less thing to do today, but it is actually a pretty quick and easy recipe.

The dry ingredients are mixed together, cold butter is cut in with a pastry cutter, and then the wet ingredients are added. My dough was a bit too crumbly at first, so I drizzled in some more heavy cream to get it to stick a little better.

The dough is then rolled out into a rectangle, cut with a pizza cutter (or a regular knife would work as well), and thrown in the oven until done.

The recipe suggests serving with jam, but these are just as good plain with some tea!

Taste: 9/10

These were almost perfect, but I found them just a tad too sweet and thought they needed a little more salt than the recipe called for.

Difficulty: Easy

These are a pretty easy recipe, but you might need to add more cream or flour to get the dough the right consistency, which is not mentioned in the recipe.

Cost: Cheap

You’ll need flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, butter, heavy cream, and an egg. Pretty common ingredients!
