Watermelon Sangria

It was so nice to be able to celebrate a holiday in person again! We got together with our friends yesterday to celebrate Independence Day with a pool party and barbecue, and I whipped up a batch of The Pioneer Woman’s Watermelon Sangria to enjoy at the party!

I actually did not get any pictures of the sangria, but you can see it on her website if you follow the above link. Mine looked pretty much the same, except I had to split it into two different vats and we cut the watermelon into slices instead of cubes, allowing us to eat the alcohol-infused watermelon slices afterward. Yummy!

All you have to do is cut the watermelon into cubes, soak in rose wine for 6+ hours, and then add in some prosecco, sparkling wine, champagne, etc. right before serving.

Taste: 7/10

This tasted better after we added in an extra bottle of prosecco, but I think that’s my fault for buying the cheap rose! Everyone really enjoyed the watermelon slices afterward!

Difficulty: Easy

This is SO easy to do! Chop up a watermelon, and pour booze over it.

Cost: Average/Expensive

I guess this one depends on how much you want to spend on the wine and champagne/sparkling wine! I spent a bit more on the prosecco, but cheaped out on the rose wine and wished I had spent more for a better-quality drink.
