Cookbook Reveal – True Blood: Eats, Drinks, and Bites from Bon Temps

A brief overview of the cookbook I will be reviewing this month.

One comment

The very first cookbook I’ll be trying is “True Blood: Eats, Drinks, and Bites from Bon Temps.”  Truth be told I’ve had this cookbook on my shelf for a few years now, but have only really tried about 4 or 5 recipes.  I LOVE Southern food, though, so I’m dying to give more of these a try! (see what I did there?)

True Blood: Eats, Drinks and Bites from Bon Temps

About True Blood:

True Blood was a television series on HBO, which was based on a book series called “The Southern Vampire Mysteries” by Charlaine Harris.  The premise is that scientists have developed a synthetic blood, so vampires are now free to come forward and admit their existence.  It follows Sookie Stackhouse, a waitress in Bon Temps, Louisiana, as she gets pulled deeper and deeper into the world of Supernaturals.  I loved the book series, and the show was just as sexy 😉

About the Cookbook:

The book itself is really beautiful.  Lots of full-page printed photos for fans of the show.  The recipes have fun titles, like “Stake and Eggs” or “Up-in-Arms Biscuits and Gravy.”  Each one has “by [character’s name]” written underneath the recipe title, as though it was submitted to the cookbook by that character, with a short blurb written by that character that relates to the recipe in some way.
